Reminders:

Sixth-grade Camp- The forms have been sent home with your child/children.

Sixth-grade Camp Reminder - Permission slips/payments are due by October 17, 2018!  Our adventures begin on the 29th or the 30th. Students must have completed permission slips to participate in this field trip.  (Reminder – Students have been asked not to bring electronics on this trip.)

Water Bottles – West prefers clear plastic water bottles over glass bottles.  We have had a few glass bottles break in the gym/locker room areas.

Bussing – Students are not permitted to ride home with friends unless there is a family emergency.  If an emergency arises, BOTH the sending and receiving families need to send a note into school.  This note should detail the need, supervising parent/guardian, bus number, and bus stop. Some of our buses are quite full; as a result, the bus company can deny a request when the number of students exceeds any given bus’s capacity.

Staying after School – Students may only stay after school when they are under the direct supervision of a teacher, coach, or club advisor.

Eligibility - Students are subject to the guidelines established for determining their eligibility to participate in all co‐curricular activities, such as, but not limited to: sports, band, plays, clubs, leadership roles (student council), and dances. An “Ineligible List” is printed every week to indicate which students may not participate in extra‐curricular activities due to poor academic performance or an outstanding debt.  A student’s cumulative average for every subject, at any given time, must be 60% or above for him/her to be considered eligible. Students with failing grades are placed on academic probation for two weeks. If, after the second week, the student’s average is still below 60%, he or she is placed on the ineligible list. Students remain ineligible until a passing cumulative average is attained.

Updating Contact Information - If you need to update contact information, i.e. telephone numbers and/or email addresses, please see the attachment, Instructions for Completing Registration Verification through Home Access Center (HAC).

Power Packs - Is your child in need of a Halloween costume?  The PV Power Packs program will be helping to coordinate the distribution of donated Halloween costumes to children in need. If you would like your child to receive a costume, please send the following information to powerpacks@pvsd.org:

  • Child's name and school

  • Costume type (ex.: superhero, princess, animal, etc.)

  • Size

Also, if you would like to donate a costume, please let us know that too.  Thank you for your consideration!

The PV Power Packs program, which supplies students in need with food over the weekend, is seeking non-perishable food donations. Please consider donating INDIVIDUAL-SIZED breakfast, lunch, and snack items such as cereal, oatmeal, mac and cheese (boxes and individual-sized), pasta, Chef Boyardee, ramen, granola bars, raisins, applesauce, fruit snacks, fruit cups, etc. Donations can be dropped off during school hours to any school or the district office. If you prefer to order online, you can send your shipment to the high school (509 Gravel Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426) to the attention of "PV Power Packs."

Bus Deck Dress – Each morning West students may congregate on the bus deck for fifteen minutes (or less).  As the temperature drops, please encourage your child to wear a sweatshirt or a coat to school.  (Please remind your child to keep a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and/or sneakers here at school as well.)

from the Counseling Center - Parent Information Nights (Pertinent links for each can be found on our website.) – Please mark your calendars for these important dates. Click here for event details and our full schedule of events throughout the year.
