Mrs. Milligan
Dear West families,

First, I will never try to predict weekend weather ever again.  Sorry about that!

It is hard to believe that a full month has already come and gone, and it's starting to feel like fall.  The students have settled into their routines, and we have already reached mid-marking period. Therefore, I encourage all parents to check the Home Access Center (HAC) to monitor your child’s/children’s progress.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s performance, please contact your child’s team of teachers or individual teachers. Let the counselors, Ms. Militello or Mr. Montgomery, or me know if we can be of additional assistance as well.

New News:

Our Fall Band Night has been cancelled for tonight. Due to the conditions of our field, the high school football game has been moved to Methacton. Kick off will be at 7:30 p.m. at Methacton.  Click here for details.

Walk for West and Spirit Week is here!  Starting Monday, our biggest fundraiser of the year kicks in.  The money we raise next week aids students and teachers the entire year.  It helps provide author visits, field trip support, agenda books, and much, much more!  And don't forget, many local businesses match donations. For more information about next week, like our facebook page at PV Middle School West Home & School. Please makes checks payable to PV Middle School West Home & School.

Spirit Week - October 1st to 5th and Walk for West is scheduled for Friday, October 5th (rain date, Tuesday, October 9th.)  Please send donations for the walk by October 9th.  (See attachment.  A flyer and envelope have been sent home with each student.)

  • Monday, October 1 – Hat Day/Crazy Hair Day

  • Tuesday, October 2 – Sports Day (Wear your favorite team shirt.)

  • Wednesday, October 3 – Mismatched or Backward Day

  • Thursday, October 4 – Superhero Day (Wear a cool superhero shirt or costume.)

Middle School Dance – What a success!  The kids danced, jumped, and sang all night!  They didn’t even look tired when they left us; we tried!  We were very fortunate to have Mr. Zacharias, Mrs. Todd, and, of course, Home and School parents support this lively activity. Thank you to all of our parents who helped bake and/or worked the snack stand at the dance.

Pictures – Showstopper pictures have been distributed.  If you ordered a package and have yet to see it, it is most likely in a backpack.

Sixth-grade Camp- The sixth-grade teams will be participating in a field trip to an outdoor school program, which offers students experiential-based lessons designed to complement the science curriculum.  In addition, students will participate in group challenges to foster teambuilding. The teams plan to send more information home next week! Please check your email for details.
