Dear West families,

Only a few informational items to share this week...nevertheless, we are excited for our high school football team players as they go up against their formidable rival, Spring-Ford!  Go Vikings! (West students showed their PV Pride by wearing their orange today!)

New News:

Final Walk for West Update: Our Home and School has reported our fundraiser total to be just shy of $5,000.  The top participating homerooms were Wilderness and Crusader, who will get to use the newly purchased giant Jenga and Connect Four games.  To our students and families, we thank you for your participation and for supporting our school!

Red Ribbon Week – 10/22/18-10/26/18 – Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States.  Please click here for more information.  

Take a Stand Against Drugs:

Monday - Black Out Drugs – Wear black.

Tuesday - Living Drug Free Is No Sweat – Wear sweatshirts.

Wednesday - Your Future is Bright without Drugs – Wear white.

Thursday - The Best Me is Drug Free – Wear nice clothes.  (It is also picture retake day!)

Friday - Use Your Head -- wear red.

Fall Activity Night - coming soon! Please see your email for more information.

Sixth-grade Camp – Permission slips were due on Wednesday.  If you have any concerns regarding paperwork and/or payment, please call our front office, 484-977-7210.


Staying after School – Students may only stay after school when they are under the direct supervision of a teacher, coach, or club advisor.

October 23, 2018 at 7:00 pm – Barbara Harvey Brodsky Enrichment Center of JFCS, 345 Montgomery Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA “The Opioid Epidemic:  Understanding How America’s Deadly Addiction Affects Our Community” (a panel discussion headed by Josh Shapiro, PA Attorney General)  See attachment; there is an RSVP/a charge for this event.

from Mrs. Lind - Nurse’s Notes:  Just a friendly reminder that 6th grade students require a physical examination and updated immunizations if necessary, and 7th grade students require a dental examination. If your child has had these examinations recently, please be sure to send a copy in to the Nurse's office so your child's health record can be updated.   Please don't hesitate to reach out to the school nurse if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child.
