Mrs. Milligan
Dear PVMS West Families,

I hope this email finds you doing well as we head into the weekend!

New News:

West’s drama club presented a whimsical version of Madagascar, Jr. this past weekend to three, full-house crowds.  Congratulations to the cast, crew, faculty-directors, and support staff!  We appreciate your dedication, hard work, passion for the arts, and talent; we are West Proud!

String Fest:  Sixteen students from MS West have been selected to participate in String Fest, a one-day event to be held at a local school next week. Our musicians will participate in rehearsals throughout the day and play in the evening concert. Congratulations!

Two Upcoming Events for Parents Whose Children Receive Title I Support with Mrs. Benz and/or Mr. Pasquarello: West will be hosting a Title 1 monitoring session on the morning of Wednesday, March 27, 2019.  The meeting will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and should run for a half hour or less. Please consider joining us as we review our comprehensive Title 1 Math and ELA program.   As part of this monitoring process, a Federal Programs Monitor will visit our school to review documents and ensure compliance with all components of Title 1, from programming to funding.  We invite you to join us for a brief, group interview. You do not need to prepare anything prior to the meeting. Parents will simply be invited to share their thoughts on programming and their level of involvement in Title 1 services.

A second opportunity will be coming on the evening of Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle School West library.  Mrs. Benz and Mr. Pasquarello will share with you strategies and tips to make the standardized testing weeks run smoothly. This evening will provide an opportunity for the Title 1 staff to come together with parents and guardians to share test preparation tips, study and organizational skills, test anxiety strategies, and nutrition tips to help ease your son or daughter through the state assessments. Please plan to join us as we share this valuable information and answer your questions.

from Home and School: As we move into spring, it's time to start thinking about Home & School elections.  Every year, we elect four new board members to help shape and execute what the Home & School does the following year.  If you are interested in being on the H&S board for the 2019-20 school year, please contact Amy Butler at amyjpowers@hotmail.com.
