Dear West Families,

It is with very mixed emotions that I write this letter announcing my retirement from the Perkiomen Valley School District, effective July 31, 2020.  Please know that I take great pride in having worked for a district that has dedicated itself to strengthening, supporting, and enhancing student growth and learning as well as preparing Perkiomen Valley students for future successes.

Perkiomen Valley has supported my professional growth and development for over thirty years, and I have both recognized and appreciated the coursework, training, and trust afforded to me.  During my tenure, I became an active and respected member of the school community, and I thrived on the responsibilities entrusted to me.  Having worn a number of “hats” (teacher, department chairperson, literacy coach, curriculum coordinator, assistant principal, and principal,) I hope to capitalize on the skills I have honed while working in PVHS, MS East, MS West, and Skippack to discover new avenues of teaching, learning, writing, and advocating.

It is with great humility that I credit my talented colleagues, both past and present; wonderfully supportive Perkiomen Valley parents, and, of course, decades of AMAZING students with feeding my academic interests, allowing me to realize and celebrate numerous successes, and supporting my aspirations.

Perkiomen Valley, I sincerely appreciate and thank you!  Once a Viking, always a Viking,

Donna L. Milligan,

Principal, Perkiomen Valley Middle School West
